I didn\u2019t\u00a0have the book long before I somehow lost it and since then I\u2019ve not found another copy, nor have I found anyone who has ever heard\u00a0of such a story. I don\u2019t know the title, but the story line is this:<\/p>\n<p>A man decides he wants a wife so goes to a <u>Wife Store<\/u> and selects one. After a\u00a0while the couple decide they want children so they\u00a0go to a <u>Children Store<\/u> and select several. As the story goes on, the children are given\u00a0\u201cnames&#8221; (numbers or letters), pets, and I think\u00a0the family gets a home and\/or land. Several\u00a0other\u00a0<u>stores<\/u>\u00a0are involved in the story. I seem to remember that the man\u2019s\/ family\u2019s last name was \u201cHunkendunk,\u201d but am by no means sure about it.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve tried local libraries, local book sellers of new and\u00a0used books, online, entering what information I remember, without\u00a0success.\u00a0 Does this story line ring a bell with anyone out there?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Book Stumper, 15-20 years ago\u00a0I\u00a0acquired a children\u2019s book that was old at that time (it had been in a library that was being closed).
