I am looking for a\u00a0children’s color illustration picture book that is about 15 to 20 years old,\u00a0maybe 25 years\u00a0or so. Unfortunately, I do not recall the title or author. It may have\u00a0been a Scholastic book,\u00a0but I am not sure. The characters had no\u00a0recognizable names, such as Madeline, Judy Bloom,\u00a0etc.,\u00a0as I\u00a0recall.<\/p>\n
It was about a young girl and her parents. It was a\u00a0 series of illustrations showing different scenes,\u00a0with the girl and her\u00a0parents with a different fantasy happening, such as they are on the beach\u00a0at night and you see pirates approaching,\u00a0and in each scene the girl asks if\u00a0her parents would let her go and the response is always the same,\u00a0something like “For a nickel I would”\u00a0or “We would for a\u00a0nickel.”<\/p>\n
It was a short book,\u00a0not chapters,\u00a0maybe about 10 to\u00a012 scenes (each scene covered two pages as I recall) and page size was at least paper size or magazine size, not a\u00a0small book. I can locate a number of books using the word nickel in the title, but I do not believe the word nickel was in the title of the book I seek, and it was not about the nickel (as the subject of the story), it was about the girl and her parents interaction about letting her go on each adventure.<\/p>\n
Any help or suggestions on how to\u00a0track this down would be appreciated.<\/p>\n
