309B: WWII era teen book (Solved)

I have been searching for a book(s) written during/after WW 2.

Main character: Kandy Cane/Kandy Kane

Boy friend: I believe was Peter

Author: I think started with an L(an). The books were in the middle of the stacks.

It was a series – followed a group of kids through young adult hood.

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my request about the Candy Kane series. I have thought about those books many times over the last 50 or so years. Now the mystery is solved.
      Again, thank you,
      Rene

Try Janet Lambert’s books, Candy Kane 1943; Whoa, Matilda 1944; One for the Money 1946. Candy is a secondary character in one of the Tippy Parrish series — I think A Song in Their Hearts, but it could be one of the others.

The book is Candy Cane and the author is Janet Lambert. A sequel or prequel is Whoa, Matilda. Loved these books as a kid, my mother gave them to me.

This is a series of books written by Janet Lambert (I think). A quick search showed several in the series.

Candy Kane stories were written by Janet Lambert. She also wrote other teen books with certain families such as the Parrish family and others.
