314X: Lestrade Visits Watson after Sherlock Holmes’ Death

I am looking for a book, possibly found on Google Advanced Book Search or Amazon, where Lestrade and Dr. Watson had drifted apart since Holmes’ death, I think at Reichenbach. Lestrade had a grudging respect for Holmes, but only tolerated Dr. Watson, Holmes’ colleague/associate/compatriot. I think Dr. Watson mentioned trying to employ Holmes’ methods, but I don’t know how successful he was. But then I think Lestrade came to visit Dr. Watson about a case.

The author wasn’t Doyle. The book might have been an ebook, a regular book or a story that was independently published. It wasn’t fanfiction. It wasn’t by M J Trow. It also wasn’t Sojourn by J L Hazen, the Trials of Sherlock Holmes by James Moffett, the Smiling Judge by Mary Fantina, the Confidential Casebook of Sherlock Holmes by Marvin Kaye, Holmes Away from Home (Vols I-II) by David Marcum and Mark Mower or the MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories Pt II by David Marcum and Mark Mower, although the plots are close!

If anyone could help me find this book, I would greatly appreciate it! 🙂
