about a boy who (i think) trips over his dog coming down the stairs in the morning, makes him mad, so he is mean to everyone all day. The book shows how the anger/meanness is spread from person to person. It then show either the next day, or an alternate reaction and how niceness and kindness is spread to everyone. (I think maybe in the negative day it spreads around until it comes back to him and someone is sharp/mean to him) I read this book in my local library at least 19 years ago.

215D: Messy Goat Brothers (children’s book)
This is a surprise for my girlfriend, so I’m dealing w/scant details. Several goat brothers (or siblings, there may have been girl goats as well) are pictured in a kitchen with a sink full of unwashed dishes. An enormous pile of unwashed dishes. It seems to have been a book about teaching kids responsibility. This would have been available in the late 60s or early 70s.
I’d appreciate any help you could provide. Thanks in advance.
214C: Litte Donkey Works In a Sugar Cane Mill (Solved)
This sweet little story book was given to me in the 1960s. A little donkey works at a sugar cane press in a small village in Mexico. He works very hard and when festival day arrives a little girl dresses him up by putting flowers around his neck and over his ears and he gets to go to the fiesta. Would love to know title and author.
214B: Collection of Life’s Lessons For Children (Solved)
This book is probably from the 40s or 50s. It was a series of stories that taught children how to make good choices. One story featured a greedy little boy who always grabbed the biggest cookie or cupcake for himself. To teach him lesson someone makes a nice spread of food featuring one very large muffin or potato etc. but something is always wrong with the biggest piece. For example a large pie has almost no filling inside! When he grabs the biggest one he always gets disappointed.
213A: Generous Queen Marries Curmudgeon
I am Looking for a children’s book, about the size of a Little Golden Book, although I am not sure that this was a Little Golden Book. I think it was called either The Magic Garden or The Secret Garden (not Frances Hodgen Burnett’s book). It was the story of a beautiful, generous queen married to a curmudgeon husband. She had access to a garden full of flowers, elves and fairies, beautifully illustrated. Of course, the husband is ultimately converted by her compassion and dealings with the poor. I recall it from the ’30’s and ’40’s so it was probably published about then.
212C: little airplane called “Props”
Children’s book about a little airplane called “Props”. Early 1940s. “Props” in the title, I think. Story line similar to “Scuffy the Tugboat” in Little Golden series.
211D: GIRL FINDS A FAIRY
I’m looking for a children’s book from ca.1945-1952. It’s about a little girl who finds a tiny girl fairy child and then keeps her. It has lovely color illustrations. One illustration shows the little girl giving the fairy a bath, using a soap dish for a bathtub. Can anyone identify this book?
210G: Boy uses coal chute to recreate clown car (Solved)
Full-color picture book published between 1940 and 1980. At the beginning, a coal delivery to the boy’s basement through a chute. Then the boy’s father takes him to the circus, and he sees a clown car but can’t figure out how they do it. Somehow, he thinks of the coal chute and figures out that there must be a trapdoor under the car for the clowns to go. Then he makes his own clown car.
208C: little girl that goes to a fairy or elf wedding (Solved)
This will be fairly vague (sorry!) When I was little (late 70s/early 80s) I had a book that was about a little girl that goes to a fairy or elf wedding. The things that stick in my mind are that it had these really amazing illustrations and a Lupine Fairy who had blue hair that swirled all around her head, there were also fairies who were parachuting in on milkweed fluff. The husband fairy (elf?) had long pointy ears and a crooked nose… Unfortunately that’s all I can remember, none of the actual story except that it is all about them getting prepared for the wedding but it’s one of those things that pops into my mind occasionally and I’ve never been able to figure out what book it is. Any help would be amazing!!
208A: Children’s Book Published Before 1968
I am a librarian in need of HELP. A patron has asked for a children’s book published before 1968. The only thing they can remember it’s about a man delivering or selling milk with a donkey cart. The donkey gets hurt in the story. I have tried everything looking for this book. If you can help me it would be gratefully appreciated. It is a birthday gift for a patron’s sister
