My boyfriend recalls this book as a child dated back ~1970s time frame. The main summary involved animals in a rainforest or forest having a tea party, but every time it rained the tea got diluted.The cover may contain vivid color animals. Please help me find this childhood memory for him.
He said it is not The Animals’ Tea Party by Helen Wing.

Thank you so very much. This may just be it!!! It sounds exactly how he describes and the cover looks as he remembers. I found and ordered it and will give to him as a surprise when i receive it.. in hopes that this mystery has been solved. I will keep you posted if this one was the one!!!
Sounds to me like “Sloth’s Birthday Party,” a favorite of mine in the 1970’s. Sloth wants to have his friends over, but his roof leaks, water gets into the soup, the chairs break, etc. so his friends help him out.
