141M: Farm Animals, Rhymes- Kitty Kitty drinking milk, your fur is fine and soft as silk

A Children’s book bought in the early to mid 80’s, might be A Little Golden or Elf? These are the lines “Bossy eats grass and swishes her tail and gives us milk in a shiny pail. Skippy drives the cows and sheep and over the fence will lightly leap. Piggy Piggy eats all day he sleeps so much he will

If my memory serves me the book was red background on cover with a pony on front. I remember some of the other lines: Rex rides us on his back at night when work is done and foods in site, this was a draft horse in harness with child on back in front of the open doors to the barn . The last page read, But of all the animals the one I’d pick is the fuzzy little yellow chick. This wasn’t baby animals but just farm animals with a ducky,Billy Goat, Piggy, Cow, Collie Dog named Skippy, Lamb, Rex the horse, yellow chick, Bossy the cow. I read that book to my oldest daughter so many times that I can recite most of the lines yet I let the book get away. Now I want to find a copy for her son who is 4. Help Please, need title, publisher, name of author, illistrator, so I can find it. Thanks Everyone!

I have a really dog-eared copy from my childhood, but after 5 children the cover and first publisher page is missing.
    I’d love to find it.

Update: I found the author of some of the stories included in the book; Chatterduck and The Crybaby Calf, by Helen and Alf Evers. Hope that helps! If anyone finds the name of this compilation book, I’d appreciate it.

I came across this site searching for the very same book for my newborn. It was my favorite growing up. I finally reached out to my mother who still has it! It was not a little golden book. It was a Rand McNally from I believe she said 1952 called ” Farm Pets” if you google rand McNally and the title it comes up under images- a pinkish colored book with several animals on the cover. Hope this helps someone!
