Got from University Heights branch of Heights Library (OH) system circa 1988. Wordless board book, no photos, cartoonish drawings similar to Richard Scarry. City scenes, with some objects I could not recognize; Italian?French? Librarian no help in ID; no records exist. Title “City” or “A City”?
Could this be one of the books by Mitsumasa Anno? He produced a number of wordless picture books about places: ‘Anno’s Italy’; ‘Anno’s Britain’; ‘Anno’s USA’; etc.
No, that’s been suggested before, but that is not it. Thanks, though…
Have you tried – it has a slightly cartoony look going by the cover
Grandpa’s Great City Tour / James Stevenson (1983) Greenwillow books
Drawings portray grandpa touring the city, encountering on each page objects, animals, and people whose names begin with a particular letter of the alphabet
Thanks, but that’s not it. The book is without words and isn’t organized alphabetically.
