Trying to remember the name of a book. Basically it’s a fantasy book with teenage boy protagonist. His aunt has lied to him his whole life, learns who can control all the elements and starts a romance with a female vampire who also passed the test he did. Two sets of vamps.
I’m the one who wants to know so here is more info from the book. The book starts with the teenage boy and his best friend heading to some kinda of magic test. They are talking about it and how the best friend is guaranteed to pass and that he isn’t. His younger female cousins are with them. Then we find out he had a girlfriend who dumped for someone with more money and power. Once the test begins our hero accidentally passes the test, but in a significant way. Next thing he knows he’s upstairs with his Uncle and learns he is very special and can control all elements. After passing the test everyone who passes is told to be at a pub at a certain time or else they won’t be let in. He has to sneak out of his house to go because his aunt doesn’t want him to. Turns out he should be a leader in the community somehow can’t remember. Once he gets there he meets the female vampire. Before this we had some story bits from her. She’s defied her people to come take the test. But as we find out her people are happy she passed and was accepted. As the story goes on we find out why she and he and the good vampires are needed. The best friends have some arguments as the book goes on mainly about the vamp and then some jealousy issues.
