I am looking for a children’s Christmas book I read to my son in the 70’s. It is about children getting ready for Christmas. They are decorating and also baking Christmas cookies. I think the cover had a light blue background.

This could be “The Twenty-Four Days Before Christmas” by Madeline L’Engle. It describes what one family does on each day of December — like getting out and starting to use the Christmas mugs, baking cookies, etc.
Try “Waiting for Santa Claus” by Marcia Martin. Bobby and Sally help Mother bake cookies, decorate, visit Santa, etc. in the days leading up to Christmas.
I tried both. Neither of them worked. The book is not as long as 24 days. Waiting For Santa Claus is older. The book is more modern. Thanks for trying.
