I'm searching for a mid-1950s single story children's book about a little animal (can't remember type) that disobeyed mother's instructions and went through the farm fence into the forest, got lost, but finally found its way home. Right hand side pages had single colour pictures. Thank you for any help.
Is it perhaps: The Strange Disappearance of Arthur Cluck by Nathaniel Benchley? It’s maybe 1960’s, not 50’s. but I read it when I was little. He gets out through a fence in the farm…
Sorry if this is a repeat…is it perhaps: The Strange Disappearance of Arthur Cluck by Nathaniel Benchley? I believe it is a 1960’s book, but close?

Sorry if this is a repeat, I have tried to submit this several times and it doesn’t seem to go through…
Is it perhaps a Serendipity book by Cosgrove? The husband and wife team wrote a lot of moralistic stories with cute illustrations, usually of animals.
