There was a kids book about a drawing of a cat that fell off the paper overnight and walked around the room and curled up with the sleeping child. I was a kid in the 90's but it could be from even earlier then that.

If I remember correctly it was a painting (?) Of a striped cat. I can’t remember if it was supposed to be a tiger or just a regular cat, but that’s what I remember of it.
Longshot, but in the short story “The Boy Who Drew Cats” by Lafcadio Hearn (found in the book “Tricky Tales”), the protagonist’s feline paintings come to life as he sleeps and protect him from a monster rat.
