No Author or Title Read around 1977 This boy is forced to move to the country close to a swamp and while exploring he comes across an Indian boy living on his own who teaches him how to survive in the swamp, how to live off the land, create shelter and navigate and they camp out in the swamp
Just wanted to add that the story takes place in the USA and is an American Indian child
Is it Jean Craighead George’s Tree Castle Island or Bill Wallace’s Blackwater Swamp? Both have boys with new friends in a survival situation in a swamp…I don’t remember if the friends are Native Americans though.
Those both look like good books but they are not the ones I am looking for this would have been written before 1980 but the swamp sounds right in the Georges tree castle book.
