young child book about horse farm, one colt is orphaned and does not have a mother, all the other horses are paired up (mother and baby) ….finally the farmer brings a mother horse and she and colt make a family. all the mother and baby horses look each other including the orphaned colt and his new mother….book was from my childhood probably late 1960’s (1968 or so) thank you

Possibly a story by Wesley Dennis? The one I remember best is Flip, but I don’t think he was an orphan. It might also be worth checking out CW Anderson’s books.
