216A:Big Blue Book of Children’s Stories

In the 1950s I was in the hospital and my grandmother gave me a book that she read to me every day. I was around seven-years-old at that time. It had a blue hardcover with black lettering. It had stories like “Billy Goats Gruff”, “Why the Bear had a Stumpy Tail”, “Town Musicians of Bremen”, and “Shingabis and the North Wind”. I do not remember the title of the book, but wish to find it to give it to my daughter for her children. I can still repeat the Shingabis story almost word for word as I had to have that story read to me every day.

Sorry, neither of those books are what I am looking for. It is a large book, about 12-inches high. It is a hard cover and dark blue with no picture on the cover, just the name of the book in black. The illustrations in the book are beautiful. Please keep trying to find this book for me.

      Thanks.

Stories That Never Grow Old has been around since 1938. The older editions do not have any illustrations on the front cover – just blue cloth boards.

Is the Big Blue book of Children’s Stories still available inany form?

I loved those stories and somehow the book got lost over the many years.

I would love to have a copy!
