    Possibly Marjorie Fischer: Street Fair. I don’t remember the details of the story, but it is about two children visiting Paris, and was published in 1949.

    The gold statuettes of the Eiffel tower in “The Lavender Hill Gang” is
    what comes to mind. It was a motion picture, not a book…

    Family Sabbatical by Carol Ryrie Brink is set in Paris around this time although I’m not sure it it includes those details.
