344Y: Parable Book From the 70’s or 80’s

I remember this book being popular (I think) in the 70s/80s. I think I read it or looked thru it when I was around 7/8 (1980/81). I think the main character was a boy who went on a journey to different towns.

I feel like it was a parable of some kind.
And I want to say Heidi was involved...or maybe that was just another parable book in my house.

Do you have any clue of what I am talking about?
It’s driving me crazy.

A long shot, but it reminds me of a Sonia Levitin story that appeared in the June 1978 issue of Cricket. It was: I Want to Go to Kurachek. If it’s in one of her books, I can’t find it.
From one site: “When Fedor is taking his grapes to market one day he is passed by a man on his way to the miraculous city of Kurachek. Fedor becomes obsessed with going to Kurachek but in preparing to go, he discovers that there is no place like home.”

Perhaps, ‘The Search for Delicious’ by Natalie Babbit? Plot description from Scholastic: “Traveling from town to farmstead to town on his horse, Marrow — Gaylen finds more than he expected. It seems that the search for “delicious” had better succeed if civil war is to be avoided. Gaylen’s quest leads him through a wonderland full of fascinating people, ancient dwarfs, odd woodland creatures, and more.”
