I think it was a short story within an anthology, that involved a rare (maybe Venezuelan?) spider that was the most dangerous in the world, and could paralyze people. I think there was a recluse in his mansion, that included a greenhouse or conservatory, and someone maybe have been trying to get money from him? It was a library book, so I have no idea when it would have been published, but I read it in the early 1990s.

103F: Blood Pact at the Moors
This book I read in the 1980’s at my school library (small primary school, under 30 kids) in a very tiny town in country NSW Australia.
All I remember is that it involved a girl and boy set in England?. I think he was infatuated with her.. either he kidnapped or she went with him willingly and he took her to the moors and there was a cave there. He made her do a blood pact to tie them together. I am pretty sure he had dark hair. Thats all I remember!
103E: Melting Marshmallows
The book as I remember it: Soft cover bedtime stories…blue maybe? Looked kinda like a coloring book, but was bedtime stories.
The story: Took place in a candy store, at night all the candy came alive. The only thing I really remember is the marshmallows starting to melt. It would have been in the 1960’s probably. it was my favorite story as a kid and would love to read it to my grandson. Hope you can find it…I have had no luck. Thanks.
103D, solved: Witch Pretending to be a Girl
I am looking for and requesting a children’s book that my fourth-grade teacher read to us in 1974 about a witch pretending to be a girl. She goes to school with a girl and pulls the school fire alarm.
103C: science fiction with twinkie title
I found this book at the library in 1985, it may have been published in the 70s. I believe it was young teen science fiction, it had a long title that included the word “Twinkie” (possibly plural). Central character was a girl.
103B: circular short story by Hispanic author
I read a short story while I was studying in Mexico, so I am almost positive that it was a contemporary work by a Hispanic author, about a man sitting reading a book one night ( I for some reason believe it was dark and maybe stormy and that he was sitting in a chair reading by a fireplace). He is reading about a man reading a book, and outside the character’s window there is someone lurking. The story ends with the reader hearing a noise outside his window, insinuating that he himself is the character that he is reading about at the exact same time.
103A: Perfect Pumpkin’s Twist Ending
Hi. I’m looking for a book from the late 1960’s – early 1970’s, and I haven’t had any luck at the sites you recommend because I have so little to go on.
A little girl is excited about her class trip to a pumpkin patch where every child gets to choose and take home a pumpkin. When she finds her perfect pumpkin, she discovers a mouse living inside it. She decides to leave her perfect pumpkin so the mouse can stay and goes home empty-handed.
Thanks.
PS I grew up right by Shaker Square. Next time I come home I will visit your store!
102W: Intergalactic Airport
A children’s book (early 90s/late 80s?). Comes with tape. A boy enters an abandoned house (w/ little sister?); it’s really an intergalactic airport for aliens. Aliens are friendly; one that’s green with multiple eyes buys him a multi-flavored milkshake.
102V: Floating Space Ball
Boy befriends fuzzy/furry floating ball from space. Not much to go on but there you have it.
102U: Burgundy Christmas Anthology
Looking for a Christmas book, it was a burgundy color, the edges of the pages were gold along with the writing on the cover and square-ish (if I remember right), and had a collection of stories like “Twas the Night before Christmas”. Thanks for helping.
