A children’s picture book, 1960s or 70s I think. The text of the Eden story from Genesis, illustrated with black-and white photos of a boy and girl. The children are naked but the shots are unobjectionable — nothing creepy about them.

I’m looking for a children’s paperback picture book (ages 4-6 ish) about a horse that escapes his/her stables to explore for the day – particularly in fields of strawberry patches. It was accompanied by a cassette tape, and the woman reading on the tape had a British accent, similar to Haley Mills or Julie Andrews (though she definitely had an expressive quality more similar to Haley Mills). I read it/listened to it as a child in the 80’s, but the illustrations seemed reminiscent of the 60s or 70s – similar in both colors and style to this image: www.pinterest.com/pin/550987335638025397/ Or similar to the lines of the hair in these pictures: www.pinterest.com/pin/550987335638025364/ Or similar to the clouds and sun in these pictures: www.behance.net/gallery/Bella-Butterfly-Childrens-Book-Illustrations/3105177
Unfortunately I don’t have a clue as to the title of the book or the author. The above is the most I can remember. Thank you!
It’s a young adult mystery set in Four Corners area (Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Arizona). A family moves to the Four Corner Area and the teen aged kids get involved with a museum. The mystery involves oil and artifacts from the area. The name of the book include the words “Black Gold,” but I’m not sure. I read the paperback in the later 50s or early 60s.
This was a book my doctor had in his office when I was a kid in the 70s. It was a small paperback about a house that was haunted by children who used to live there–I think there may have been a murder committed that started the haunting, and a little girl who was either living in the house or had visited it who was experiencing the ghostly phenomenon.
This was probably from the 60s or 70s. I read it as a child in the 80s. Someone was thinking & pulled up a strand of grass to chew on. There were coins in the roots of the grass. She may have been thinking about pancakes/flapjacks or used the money to buy ingredients?
A poor family (Appalachian?) gets their first hand-crank sewing machine. The father doesn’t like it, but in the end he uses it. It was probably published before 1970.
This was read to me 1968-70ish. Bigger than A4 sized beautifully illustrated hardcover book, with one “chapter” and picture per two pages. British published as I was in New Zealand. The stories of Helen of Troy, Paris, Achilles, and Ulysses were there.
Looking for the title of a wordless book about kids who lived in a city and collected things people threw away and transformed their little garage into a fun place to play.
Possibly written in the 60s or 70s?
Sorry, no clue about the author’s name.
A children’s picture book likely 1950-1970’s about a bunny who finds a magic egg. When he looks through the egg it allows him to see different parts of the world. Possibly Easter related.
I am looking for a book that was on the Elementary School Library shelf in 1960. A young girl lives in the woods by herself. She spends her time baking treats for all her woodland friends. I can only recall that she made honey cakes for the deer.
This book has stuck with me since my childhood. To this day, I am almost sure that it is my idea of a perfect existence.
