Looking for a small red paperback I read in high school around 1982-83. It's about a street racer who drove a "Merc", wrecked it and an acquaintance/racer bought and built another one very similar, if not identical. He could not race it himself, so he hired the first guy who wrecked to race it for him.

335P: Time Traveling Glasses (Solved!)
Looking for a book about a girl who finds a pair of glasses in the woods. When she puts them on, they transport her back in time. I believe there were pioneers and Native Americans. I read this book probably in the late 80’s. Likely juvenile fiction.
335N: Gates of Fire (by Indira?)
335M: Children’s Fable Anthology
I’m looking for a hardback collection of children’s stories/fables from the late 80's or early 90's. The illustrations for each story were very round-faced, cartoony characters, and the cover was blue. I remember there being around 10-15 stories and the ones I most clearly remember are a version of “Stone Soup”, a version of “The House with the Golden Windows”, and a story very like “The Giving Tree”.
The most unique story I remember that I can’t find anywhere online is a story of a King challenging his 3 children (two sons and one daughter) to prove who should inherit the throne. He gives them each a gold coin and sends them to buy something that will fill every room of the castle. The oldest son buys feathers and tries to spread them out but there aren’t enough. The second son hires a flute player to fill the castle with music but it can’t be heard in the tallest tower. Finally the daughter buys candles for every room and fills the castle with light and therefore wins her father’s challenge. I have been thinking about this book for so long it would be amazing if anyone could point me in the right direction!
335K: A Time Traveling Soldier
I’m on a mission to find a book that I read years ago. Sci-Fi. It takes place in the future with a genetically modified soldier that gets injected with a drug that lets him occupy the bodies of his ancestors. Then, the 2 doctors who injected him also inject themselves to chase the dangerous solder thru time. One of the doctors is an alcoholic man and the other is a woman in a wheelchair.
335C: Bonnie’s First Crush Goes Awry From A Misunderstanding
I am looking for a book called Bonnie. It may also be spelled Bonny. I read it in the early 1980's when I was in 4th or 5th grade. I believe it was set in the 1950's. The main character sang in an all girls chorus and had her first crush. I think I remember that they went ice skating for one of their dates, maybe their first date. But at some point, she thinks he likes someone else or doesn't like her anymore for some reason. Of course, in the end, it was all a misunderstanding. It was a chapter book and had some illustrations, and I remember the book I read had a yellow cover with a picture of the main character (sketched).
335A: Babysitter Turns Out To Be A Wolf, Chaos Ensues (Solved!)
I’m looking for a children’s book I checked out of my elementary school library in the mid/late 1980’s, so the book is from that period or earlier. I can’t recall much but it concerned a family of animals (pigs, sheep, lambs?) that lived in an urban setting (I think), an apartment with bunk beds (maybe) - there were lots of “kids". The parents go out for the night and the baby sitter turns out to be a wolf! Chaos ensues... That’s about all I’ve got. The book was illustrated.
334R: Children Travel to a Jungle to Help Gardener
Looking for a 1980’s era children’s book about two kids who must help their gardener. At one point they must travel to a jungle. It has color forms so the reader can interact with the story. For instance, by using the color forms the reader can change a garden hose into a snake.
334O: Orphans adopted by sadistic older couple (Solved!)
I read a YA series of (I believe 3 books) in the 1980's about 3 children who were orphaned and sent to live with an older couple off of the eastern US coast in a large mansion (perhaps Maine). The children were regularly subjected to gaslighting and emotional abuse. No adult believed them until the end of the very last book because the couple was so well regarded in the town. There was a cliff near the house where the tide came in very quickly and that played into the books very frequently.
334M: Children’s Story about Johnny Bulldozer
This was my husband’s favorite story as a child and I’m trying to surprise him with it as a gift for him to read with our son. It was a short story in a Children’s story book. He read it in the ‘80s, but it could have been older. It is NOT about Johnny Tractor, which I can find a lot of info about. It’s definitely about a bulldozer!
