325J: Flipping Over Tails

I am looking for a children’s book, I believe it was a 1/2 page type flip book (not where you open up a small flap).  I read it to our son when he was about 2 years old.  He was born in 1994.  We use to get most of our books second hand so I would guess the book would be from 1980’s or 1990’s.  It was about animal tails and I believe the last pages showed a little boy with 1/2 the flip page showing a peacock tail then you flip it over and it just shows the boy and he says, “hey, I don’t have a tail!”.
I know it’s not Tails or A Tale of Tails (A Little Golden Book).
Thank you for your help!

325C: The sea, New England, disappearances. . .

I am looking for a book that I had started many years ago as a tween but have since forgotten the title. I never finished it, but what I can remember was that it had a dark (possibly black) cover. In terms of plot I believe it had something to do with mysterious disappearances, where people where inexplicably called or lured into the sea and never seen again. I believe it was set in New England in a coastal town. It would have been a hardcover around the time of 2000-2005. I think there was something about a man and his father having gone into the ocean. Maybe a sea monster? I didn’t get far enough into the story to figure out why the people were disappearing. I believe it was a book for adults. I don’t think it was part of a series. The time period was modern. I don’t know if it was mystery or horror, as I never finished it. I think it might’ve been classified as mystery. I don’t think it was a young adult book and I believe it had a male author

324W: Dinosaurs Galore

I was looking for my favorite book as a child when I stumbled across this website.  It was a hardcover (thinner) book on Dinosaurs.  The covers were gray, I believe it had a Tyrannosaurus Rex on the front cover, possibly in red writing.
Regretfully I don’t remember the exact title, just Dinosaurs, it was purchased around 1992.
Each page showed large depictions of each dinosaur in its natural habitat and some pictures were quite scary (or maybe that’s because I was a kid).
On the back cover or towards the back of the picture book it had a depiction of a Saber Tooth Tiger attacking or eating another dinosaur.

324S: Haunted House Mystery; Culprit Is A Pet Frog

This was a book on cassette – it may have had an accompanying read along book.  I checked it out from the library all the time in the mid to late 90’s.

There was a group of kid detectives who were asked in to investigate strange noises in an old house and prove it wasn’t haunted. There was a sick, bedridden boy visiting the owner of the house. After investigating, the detectives found that the sick boy had a secret pet frog that was causing the spooky sounds. The sick boy might have been visiting from a different country.

323T: Wise Dad Comforts Heartbroken Girl Who Was Denied Doll

I’m looking for a children’s book. I think the title may be “The Pinks” but I don’t know the author. It’s about a girl who is saving money for a doll in a store window. Before she can buy the doll, a rich girl from her school buys her. The girl is heartbroken and her dad says some wise things. The dad is a truck driver and he likes music. He says something like “strife makes good art”.  The book was probably written in the late 90’s or early 2000’s.

Thank you for your help!

323J: Children search for Victorian explorer father

Looking for a YA book published 2008-2015-ish.  It is a kind of steampunk-y story about some children whose father has disappeared. He’s a Victorian-ish explorer and there are still vast expanses to be explored. The kids follow some clues and find a hidden world…maybe in a cave? I think the father was part of some sort of explorer’s society, too.

323E: Creating the story of one’s life

Around 1996 I bought my dad a book of questions about one’s life. In the end of answering these questions came a lovely little story about one’s entire life. My dad died without completing it and I couldn’t find the book again. I would like to know the name and author of this book. Thank you for all your help. I’ve looked on Amazon and have not found anything like it.
