This was a rhyming book or poem from the 60s. It began, “My teddy bear was bad one day, I could not get him to obey” the child tries to scare the bear into behaving with a scary description of the boogeyman and I think it ends “I don’t believe it said my bear, and neither did I so we left it there.”
Small, thin, and round monster who turns invisible when sideways because he is so thin. Little boy keeps getting in trouble because of the monster, I think there was a toothpaste everywhere scene, and the mom catches the monster and kicks him out of the house.

 A children’s picture book I had when I was young. ( I was born in 1975) It was a heart-wrenching story about elephants.. It focused on the fact that elephants morn their dead. I believe the elephant heard was returning to a graveyard where one of their group had been been buried.
I had a book when I was younger (pre-2000, book may be older, possibly published in the early 80s) that had a hard cover and housed a collection of children’s poems. All were by different authors and all were illustrated.
Romance about a young girl that is tired of having suitors bother her so she decides to act crazy. She keeps pet chickens and takes them on walks with a maid walking in front feeding them. She ties ribbons on them to match her clothes supposed to be quite funny. Older book
My girlfriend is looking for a children’s picture book. She would have read it as a child, in the early 1990s, so if I had to guess, I’d target the publishing of the book in the 80s, but it could be anything pre-1995. She says it was about a young dog (she’s 99.9% sure it was a dog) being tucked in at night, and he asks his parents about where they live (she even thinks the title of the book may have been something like “Where do we live?”).  His mom/dad told him about their street, then their city and planet. The artwork showed the other families in the book as anthropomorphic animals, and they all had unique houses (fish families had fish bowls, rabbit family had a hole in the ground, etc). The houses stood out to her, but may have only been artwork, may not have been noted specifically in the story. She believes the puppy may have been named Walter, or something similar. I know this isn’t a lot to go on!Â
I remember reading two books by the same author one summer when I was about 10 to 12 (I was born in 68.) I think there was a brother and a sister who may have been staying at an old house with a grandfather or uncle and they find some sort of magic item. There may have been a magic genie involved. Not sure.  I do distinctly remember one scene from one of the books and the brother, I believe, is caught in a large bubble and travels either to another place (the desert maybe) or travels to another time. The other book by same author was similar but not sure if it contained the same characters. Seems like covers were similar but with slight variations. May have had a house on the front.Â
 I think this book is from a Christian publisher, and the main characters do share struggles in Christian belief.

The lead female character is an American, in her mid-20s I think. She has come to England to find her father. Her mother was a travelling American actress, who had an affair with an English actor, and is now dead. She has some infomation but (IIRC) not a name.
She winds up in this town on the night of a local Christmas play, and winds up meeting several of the performers/stagehands. One is the son of a famous actor, his wife, etc. The actor had died a year or two earlier, but was highly respected throughout the country, and known internationally. She winds up staying with this family during a snowstorm, and discovers ties to her own past. The main character also meets a friend of this family and a relationship begins to develop. There is a second book where the relationship with both the family and the friend of the family develops, and the actor’s wife has to come to terms with her anger of his new child showing up.
I’m interested in finding both books.
An older woman and her three daughters live on a rural, isolated farm. Maybe Italy? One day a bad man dressed in black arrives and hides in the basement. I think he is stealing their honey. One by one the daughters go down and try to get rid of him, but he captures them all. Finally, the older woman sends the bees down to sting him and he runs away. 1982-1990 approximately
A Red Leather book with an interesting symmetrical design and texture within the leather that is a self help book, of sorts, for adolescent boys with a title conveying the general principal of “now.” Title examples are, “Right Now” or “Today,” Published in the 40’s or 50’s.
