Another ghost story. The “ghost” is also from the Revolutionary War. The ghost was murdered for some reason and his body hidden (in a well, I think). He befriends a human modern-day boy and together they solve the mystery of the ghost’s demise.

The first book is about a modern day boy who lives in New England. Every time the fog rolls in, a mysterious village of Revolutionary War era appears in the woods. The boy develops a relationship with the villagers and eventually realizes that his own father also had a similar experience. Either the boy or his father was gifted a pocketknife by the ghost villagers.
In the mid-80’s I bought a collection of tiny picture books for my nephew which featured anthropomorphized animals who lived on Cobblestone Lane. I bought them because the first book feature a character (a cat) named Tim, like my nephew. I am looking for these books again as Tim now has a son and would like him to have a set. Can you clue me in as to what they were?
I am looking for a book I bought at school thru the Scholastic Book Club, 1982-1986.
The author was 18 and had written a short story that won a contest. The book I bought was the longer version of that story written after the contest, althou it was only around 120 pages I believe.
The story was about a misfit high school boy who made models of gargoyle-like creatures that were about 3 feet tall and for some reason they came to life. The cover was of the boy in his living room and in the background on the stairs was a set of gargoyle legs coming to get him.
I called Scholastic a few years ago to ask about contest winners as I thought it would be the
easiest way to find a name but they referred me to their Canadian office and they never got back to me.
I remember reading a book in the late 60s early 70s about a boy whose father had died trying to rescue someone. His mother had remarried and he did not like his stepfather. They went on an outfitting trip together, his stepdad got hurt and he ended up solving a murder mystery.
“Our Boys”: very old book I had as a child. I estimate it was between 1880 & 1930(sorry!). It was an anthology of children’s stories & included The Little Match Girl & Hansel & Gretel. Other than that, I remember it was blue or green binding, oversized & with b&w lithograph illustrations. Thanks!
I am looking for a book that was bought at a school book sale in Massachusetts in the mid 60’s by a ninth grader. It’s about a group of men on a desert island with poisonous spiders or crabs. One man has immunity to them and becomes the leader. A black man also develops immunity and splits loyalty in the group. At that point in the story the book was stolen from my friend and he hasn’t read another book since. Thank you for any help.
Looking for a book after which I was named.
Main character is an architect named Kimberly. He builds a bridge in Africa that no one else is able to do. Probably written in the 1950’s. My mother is 94 and can’t remember anything else.
Any help would be much appreciated.
A Children’s book bought in the early to mid 80’s, might be A Little Golden or Elf? These are the lines “Bossy eats grass and swishes her tail and gives us milk in a shiny pail. Skippy drives the cows and sheep and over the fence will lightly leap. Piggy Piggy eats all day he sleeps so much he will
A baby is stolen and raised by pirates when they lure a boat to wreak onto shore. Later, when the boy learns his past, he escapes with a horse bought with his family’s stolen money and a small dog that was with him as a baby.
