361V: The Ungrateful Princess (Solved!)

I don’t remember the name or author. I had this book as a child in the late 90s-early 2000s but it could be older. It had really beautiful illustrations with a cut paper kind of vibe? It was about a spoiled, selfish girl, maybe a princess. She drained all the water from a fountain and killed all the fish. And there was some kind of ceremony to find her a husband but she rejected all the gifts and was rude and she was sent away. She found a unicorn in a thorn bush and rescued him even though she got pricked by the thorns and tore her dress to bandage the unicorn’s leg and then she learned her lesson about being a jerk.

361U: Purple hair girl that lived on a moon

I am looking for a children’s book that I used when I was an elementary school counselor. It was about a red king and a blue king that fought over who was better, the red-haired people or the blue-haired people. A little girl that lived there revealed at the end her purple hair. I remember she kept it covered with a hood, and I think had a strange name (that may have been the title). I have been trying to find the name of the book for so long and I have no idea what happened to my copy. Thank you so much for the help!

361S: Tiny Grandma Comes Out of Phone

I am looking for a children's book

- Guessing it may be written in 1970’s to 1980’s (I read it in the 80’s)

- A little boy is being babysat and ignored by his sitter. He calls his grandmother and falls asleep when he’s on the phone with her.

- He dreams that a tiny version of his grandmother slides out of the old rotary phone, and dances and plays with him all night.

361J: Tree telephone pole book

I have a children’s book I’d like to find. This is a story about a tree that gets cut down and shipped off and then reappropriated as a telephone pole. As it turns out, the tree still had some roots in it, so it ends up growing and flourishing again as a telephone pole. I had it read to me in the early 90s, but the actual book may be older than that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

360Z: Elephant looking for a kite

I am looking for a children’s book that was a lift-a-flap book. I read it in the 80s. I think the main character was an elephant and he was looking for a his missing kite in his house. He sees small glimpses of things that look like the tail if the kite but when he looks under the flap it’s something different. He looks under a pink bed skirt and to find it was the tail of a toy wind up mouse. He opens a closet but it was a cord to a vacuum. I think I also remember a toy chest and behind a curtain where he looks. I believe there is another book with the same character and I remember a picnic basket full of colorful berries.

360Q: Picture Book about a farm with huge vegetables (Solved!)

This is a larger-format picture book, in full color, with illustrations that cover most/all of each page.  I read it in the early- to mid-80’s.  There’s a farmer who grows vegetables and something happens to his farm where he starts growing GIGANTIC vegetables.  There’s a bad guy (I think he’s dressed in a black suit and might have a black top hat?) who wants to get his hands on the farm or the stuff that makes the farm miraculous.  I can’t remember if the thing that makes the vegetables big starts to affect the farmer’s kids or not?
Thank you for reading!

360P: Black & White picture book, people climbing ladder to eat clouds

I read this book in the early 80’s, but it might have been published much earlier.  It’s a larger picture book with black & white illustrations, done in a rough pen & ink style that reminds me of the 60’s (think The Beatles’ “Yellow Submarine”).  The characters do many surreal things, but all I can remember is one two-page spread where people are climbing up a ladder to eat clouds with a spoon (they might be leaning into/out of a tower window?)
Thank you for reading this!
