A book probably from the 80s or even late 70s.Beautifully illustrated with diagram-like illustrations; one I remember in particular was a diagram of Baba Yaga’s house. Story about two girls and a hound dog solving spooky mysteries; definitely involve Baba Yaga at some point.

This is a story of, I believe, three animals.
There is a crow, and two others whom I cannot remember. These three animals live in a tree that they share. Â They are trying to survive, and much of the story surrounds their attempts to Cook good meals. Â They may make stone soup. Â The book has chapters and it has some illustrations. Â It focuses on animals staying warm and staying well fed. Â For example, They eat biscuits. Â I would LOVE to know the title of this book. Â Help?

hi there. i’m looking for a book that i read when i was a child (early 90’s) and my sister recomended this site.
from what i (think) can remember of the book a boy goes to bed angry (not where the wild things are!) and subsequently his foul mood starts to make the world break. first his room cracks and then later on the world becomes flooded and there is a picture of him sat on the roof of his house, leaning agains the chimney with his arms crossed as he watches things float past (at one point i think he hangs onto his bedroom door as it floats). i think the book ends with the whole world (reality) having been destroyed.
i think that the book used the colour blue a lot and my mother says that she remembers that it wasn’t very inundated with language- mostly picturesÂ
I used to read a book in grade school in the library about Greek Mythology. I remember one of the stories was Theseus & the Minotaur. I believe the book was grey in color with black writing & black scenes & the name of it was Greek Myths. Can you help please?
One of my favorite books as a kid was about a man who rode his bicycle into a crack in the road; the crack keeps getting larger and larger until the man finds himself riding through a giant ravine underneath the road. I think there may have been a plant or vine that grabbed his bicycle tires and dragged him into the ravine. I think the drawings were in black and white.

Hi. I had a teen paperback book sometime in the 1970s about a teenage girl traveling by train. Unhappy with her destination, she switches suitcases with a girl she meets on the train and goes to NYC with the other girl’s suitcase, which contains art supplies, and works to become an artist. Thanks!
From late 80s/early 90s. It was about a mouse family that lived inside walls of a building and had furnishings made of discarded household objects. Then one day their home is destroyed and is described as a “catastrophe” which I remember because that’s where I learned that word. I think a flood?
This book is about a woman who marries a survivalist and goes to live with him in his cabin which happens to be on Native American land (could be Native Canadian, can’t recall which it is). She lives with him until he dies in a bear attack. The local tribal leaders inform her that she must leave since she doesn’t have permission to live on tribal land (her husband did have permission). They send a young man to escort her off their land but she ends up having sex with him and she conceives a child. She is then allowed to remain on tribal land. There is a whole lot more to the story but these are the essentials.
