Looking for a small red paperback I read in high school around 1982-83. It's about a street racer who drove a "Merc", wrecked it and an acquaintance/racer bought and built another one very similar, if not identical. He could not race it himself, so he hired the first guy who wrecked to race it for him.
I’m looking for an oversized 60’s-70’s children’s book. I believe it was called “The BIG Book of Cars, Trucks, Planes” etc. I also think it had illustrations of military stuff. Like I said, it was oversized, and had lots of illustrations on the cover and inside the book itself.
Seeking a whole series of juvenile fiction books on car racing from the 1960s or 70s. The main character raced at Le Mans and the Baja 500, among other races. Devoured these books when I was young, but can't remember any of the titles or the author.
A picture book in which several small children build a working car out of stuff they find. For the headlights, they fill a jar with fireflies.
